GV-E401 and GV-E402 types have the same performance as the GV-E400 type, but are operated in a fixed two-car formation with a single cab.

Reproduces the Akita color scheme of a white base with a blue gradation stripe - Side logo is printed
- Side glass reproduces green glass
- Car number is selectable and a transfer sheet is included
- Head and tail lights and front display unit are equipped with a constant lighting board and an ON-OFF switch
- Head and tail lights and front display unit are lit by white LEDs
- Front display unit is selectable and stickers are included
- Only the leading car's driver's cab side is equipped with a TN coupler (SP)
- Uses power with flywheel
- Uses a new current collection system and silver wheels
