The ND552 type locomotives were introduced at the time of the opening of the line, and include some that were ordered by the company itself and some that were acquired from former JNR DD13s in later years. The No. 15 locomotive, along with the No. 3 locomotive, was used for shunting at Nagoya Freight Terminal Station, and was used until 2022 even after the HD300 type was introduced at the station.
