The EF210-100 is a locomotive manufactured by JR Freight from 2000 to replace the EF65 and EF66, and numbers 101 to 173 were used as general-purpose locomotives on direct current sections.

In June 2018, the 107th locomotive was introduced with a new paint scheme similar to that of the EF210-300 and began operating.
