To celebrate this achievement, Mitsubishi released the Lancer Evolution VI Tommi Makinen Edition (TME) in year 2000. To highlight its unique specifications, a color scheme inspired by the factory works machines incorporates special wheels and front bumper without fog lights, which was a feature of the Evo IV and VI to improve aerodynamics. The engine is equipped with a titanium-aluminum alloy turbine aimed at improving mid-low speed torque and response, as well as a newly developed suspension that lowers the vehicle height by 10mm.
